Description
Document signer certificate 3 year: overview
A document signer certificate 3 year is an organisation-level digital certificate issued in your company’s name – not an individual’s. It is delivered as a .pfx file and installed on your server, so your software can sign invoices, payslips, statements and reports automatically, without a person or a USB token. Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, documents signed with a certificate from a CCA-licensed Certifying Authority carry the same legal standing as handwritten signatures. Validity: 3 years.
Every document signer certificate 3 year is issued by a Certifying Authority licensed by India’s Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA), so documents signed with it are valid under the IT Act, 2000.

Document signer vs individual DSC
| Individual DSC | Document Signer Certificate | |
|---|---|---|
| Issued to | A named person | The organisation |
| Delivered as | USB token | .pfx file on your server |
| Signing | Manual, one by one | Automated, in bulk |
| Used for | MCA, GST returns, ITR, tenders | Invoices, payslips, statements |
Most companies need both: directors keep individual DSCs for statutory filings, while the document signer certificate handles everything your systems generate.
Integration with your software
Signing can be exposed through REST APIs, so .NET, Java, Node.js, PHP and Python applications – and ERPs such as SAP, Oracle and Tally – can sign documents automatically. Need us to install the certificate and wire up the API? See the 2-year certificate with API setup or ask for setup as an add-on.
